"Subluxation Tuesday"

Thanksgiving is over, so let the shopping stress begin!  Millions of people worldwide will spend the next several weeks in a buying frenzy - determined to secure the perfect gift for a rock bottom price, all while sacrificing their health and their sanity in the process.

According to a 2006 Greenburg Quinlin Rosner Research survey 'people in the United States are more likely to feel their stress increases rather than decreases during the holidays' citing, 'the holidays can be a hectic time for many, and a lack of money, a lack of time, and the hype and commercialism' is the cause of it all.  No doubt the self-induced stress of Black Friday and Cyber Monday can lead to Subluxation Tuesday.

The antidote - Don't stress over finding the right present; instead, try BEING present.  The greatest gift of all is the innate intelligence within you and a stress free nerve system to express it.  Don't let this year's must have item steal your peace and healthiness.  Get adjusted, get your power turned on and focus on the real reason for the season.

It’s Thanksgiving time, and in staying with custom, we'd like to share with you a few things we are truly grateful for this year.  Here's a short list...

We're thankful for Subluxatation free spines, slippery joints and healthy sagital curves.  Supple muscles with elastic stretchiness.  Patent nerve systems, through which the power of innate intelligence flows, coordinating all the functions that support Life.  An abundance of trusted referrals, standing room only orientations and miracle testimonials.  We're especially grateful for our Principle, and the many lives that have been saved by its faithful application.

But most of all we're thankful for all our patients, staff and ChiropracTIC fanatics worldwide who, through their trust and unrelenting desire to advance Life, have come to appreciate these things as well.   Our practice is nothing without you - our Chiropractic family.  Have a blessed Thanksgiving, above down, inside and out.

Predict Prostate Cancer 7 years early

If you take your health seriously and have been told that you have a normal PSA then I would insist your doctor order the    IGF-1 test. Unfortunately, most men are under the assumption that a PSA of 4 dl/ml gives them a green light of being free of prostate cancer.
It is a fact 15% or over one in six men with a PSA of less than 4 already have prostate cancer. If your PSA is between 4 and 10 dl/ml, you have a 25% or one in four chance of having prostate cancer.

I find it sad that in the next 24 hours 90 men will die of prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in U.S. men. As I mentioned before don't settle on the false assumption that you are safe just because your doctor has told you that your PSA is within the normal range.

Studies through Harvard, Johns Hopkins and UCLA have shown that Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) is a peptide that controls the action of growth hormones in the body. If IGF-1 is elevated, men were four times as likely to develop prostate cancer.

And this test is so powerful that when the men developed prostate cancers seven years later, the PSA had just started to turn positive.

So this test, IGF-1, can give you advance warning 7 years earlier than the relied on PSA.

So you now may be asking what can you do if your IGF-1 is elevated?

The answer is begin taking the nutritional supplement, lycopene.

Lycopene is one of the most powerful inhibitors of the IGF-1.

This potent nutrient not only effectively controls IGF-1 but has been shown to protect and secure the normal communication between cells which may have been damaged by environmental chemicals like pesticides. When this communication is effected, the cells have the potential to grow out of control leading to an increase risk of cancer.

The good news is lycopene has been found to control this and stop cancer cell growth.

So the take away for today's short message is to request that your doctor order an IGF-1 in the event your PSA comes back normal.

Again don't have the false confidence everything is ok with your prostate just because you have a normal PSA.

Nothing Organic About It.....

Spray pesticides on an apple and it’s no longer organic.  Add a drop of oil to a glass of spring water and it’s no longer pure. Most Americans detest the idea of dumping chemicals in a pristine, natural environment.  But why not have the same aversion when it comes to getting the flu shot?

Maybe it’s because you don’t realize what’s in it: Mercury (a known neurotoxin in the form of Thimerisol), Glycol (a component in antifreeze) and Formaldehyde (the stuff they preserve cadavers with).  If you dumped those chemicals in your local water supply you’d get arrested.  But every year, unknowing Americans line up at their local pharmacy to get this stuff injected into their veins.

Given the choice to eat an organic apple vs. one blasted with toxic chemicals, you know which one you’d rather take a bite out of.  Question is, would you take a bite out of yourself after getting injected with the ingredients in the flu shot?  There are natural, alternative ways to boost your immune system and protect yourself from the flu. Ask your Chiropractor what they are so you can keep your body ORGANIC this season.

My Doctor Said I Need Calcium...

11/7/2017

Calcium may well be the world's most popular nutritional supplement.

Why is that?

The main reason for calcium's popularity is just good-old-fashioned Madison Avenue propaganda.

For four decades Americans have been the beneficiaries of major advertising campaigns from the dairy industry promoting milk as the ideal food, especially for growing children. And milk's calcium content has been its major selling point. Everyone has just come to accept "on good authority" that calcium is in a class by itself as a nutrient. In reality, despite its high profile, calcium is no more important, or any more likely to be deficient, than many other mineral nutrients.

In the last several years, much media hype has been directed to osteoporosis and calcium supplementation.

According to an article in Barrons, billions of calcium tablets were swallowed by a misguided American public in 1986 and 1987 in the name of strong bones. Scarcely a few grams is likely to have ever found its way into osseous tissue, as tons of chalk were flushed down millions of toilets.

Some nutrition "authority" came up with the notion that a person is in "calcium balance" if they swallow calcium at a rate faster than their bowels and kidneys can dump the stuff. That the gullible public bought it is no surprise. But that health care professionals are as easily duped is a sad state of affairs.

My Doctor said I need 1200 mgs of Calcium to prevent Osteoporosis!

There are a few little-known facts about osteoporosis that you must understand. The truth is physicians are not helping their osteoporosis patients at all -- even while throwing tons of calcium at their bones. The sad reality is that millions of patients are swallowing billions of calcium tablets, the calcium from which largely ends up being flushed down the toilet.

Precious little of this calcium ever finds its way into osteoporotic bone. If you want to really prevent osteoporosis then you must rid yourself of the misconceptions held by all the mass media and mis-informed physicians.

Learn these facts:
  • Osteoporosis has almost nothing to do with a deficiency of calcium.
  • There are several other minerals and trace minerals that are far more important than calcium in reversing osteoporosis.

You need to get a clear mental picture of what osteoporosis is -- and what it is not.

Osteoporosis is NOT a deficiency of calcium in the bone. There is a condition in which the bone structure is intact but there is just a deficiency of calcium -- this condition is called osteomalacia. Osteoporosis, on the other hand, is a breakdown in the matrix of the bone. The matrix is the fibrous protein backbone upon which mineralization occurs in osseous tissue.

Have you ever been on a construction site when they were pouring a concrete slab for a floor or a sidewalk? Do you remember seeing the metal rods or mesh onto which they poured the concrete? Well,if we make an analogy between a sidewalk and bone, you can think of the concrete as the minerals of the bone and the reinforcing rods as the bone matrix. What would happen to that sidewalk if they poured the concrete without reinforcing rods? In no time the concrete would crumble and fall apart.

What happens to an osteoporotic bone? With the deterioration of the fibrous protein matrix the minerals cannot be held. The bone gradually loses mineral density over time.

What happens when you take calcium supplement? Mostly nothing.

If the fibrous tissue of the bone couldn't hold the calcium it already had, neither can it hold the calcium supplement. The truth is that osteoporosis does involve calcium but no more than it involves any of the other minerals and trace minerals required for bone formation -- including silica, magnesium, manganese, copper, selenium, iodine, and phosphorus.

Each of these minerals is, qualitatively speaking, every bit as important as calcium in bone formation. One very interesting study showed that supplementing with trace minerals with no additional calcium cut the amount of bone loss in half in osteoporosis patients.

Are you beginning to realize that you need a little more than a calcium supplement to help your osteoporosis patients?

Don't be fooled by the notion that you will develop osteoporosis without taking a truck-load of calcium. Remember, it takes having a healthy balance of all your essential mineral to prevent osteoporosis.

If you want to be confident that you are taking adequate amounts of the essential minerals and more important "absorbing" your minerals, then I encourage you to have an Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis.

Having the knowledge that you are obtaining all the essential minerals will go a long way in preventing mineral-induced osteoporosis.

Is He Subluxated?

Picture
Sirens blare - blue lights flash in the rear view.  You're getting pulled over and a rush of adrenaline surges through your body. Thoughts begin to flood your head. "Am I gonna get a ticket? Will I get off with just a warning? Is this guy CLEAR?"

You might not readily think of the last one unless you're a Chiropractor, a CA or a Chiropractic advocate. But if you understood the ramifications of a suppressed nerve system and how it negatively affects the way we interact with each other, you'd certainly be concerned if the police officer approaching your car was suffering with chronic subluxations. We fall short of our potential at work, with our friends and with our loved ones in the presence of nerve interference - no one is immune from the effects.

A cop's job is hard enough, let alone trying to perform it in subluxated state. If you know someone on the force or have a family member on the job, please tell them about the benefits of Chiropractic. We care about them. We want our finest working and living CLEAR - don't you?
